Does BC MSP cover eye exams?

MSP covers routine eye exams for children under 19 and adults 65 and over. Adults 19 to 64 aren't covered for routine exams, but medically required exams (for eye disease, injury, or conditions like diabetes) are covered for everyone with MSP. Needing new glasses alone doesn't count as medically required.

Eyewear

What kind of eyewear do you carry?

Prescription glasses and sunglasses, styled to your face, colouring and day through the Freddo Experience. The online showroom shows a selection; the full range is in the showroom on Hastings Street.

Which brands do you carry?

Freddo, Jetta, Eigensign, Ciel Conner, MC & UA and Falcon. Freddo is our own collection, and a Freddo frame is free with your eye exam and lenses. Browse them by brand in our online showroom, or try them on in person.

What is the Freddo Experience?

Our three-step styling process: face shape, features, skin tone and colour; recommendations for your day plus your reading and prescription needs; and your budget. It ends with a customised glasses profile.

Can I buy glasses online?

Not yet. You can reserve frames online and we'll have them ready to try on. Some prices are online; for the rest, ask us in the showroom. You pay when you visit.

What lens types can I choose from?

Three packages: Single Vision (from $99), Pro progressive (from $199) and Pro Lux (from $299). Add sun-darkening, thinner, polarised or office lenses if you need them. Your optician confirms what suits your prescription.

What is the Sight promise?

Our community work is about vision-health awareness. The Sight promise asks for one small promise: book an overdue eye exam, or remind someone you love to book theirs. Make it any time; every year we renew it together on World Sight Day, the second Thursday of October.
